Life news: I got a dog

Dauphin and Lebanon County railroads in 1901

I saw this map in a book I purchased recently, Railroads of Lebanon County, and purchased a scan for myself through the Pennsylvania Railroad Museum. I grew up in Lebanon and Dauphin counties so I really liked the crop.

The map dates to 1901 showing railroad lines and elevations in the region. Below are some insets.

As of 1901, Milton Hershey’s chocolate company hadn’t yet shifted its center of gravity fully from Lancaster to Derry Township, so this area is marked only as Hummelstown.
Sup Lebtown.
You can see the Philadelphia “main line” sneaking along the river.
